This manual outlines all the basic techniques of Taekwon-Do, the Korean martial art of self defence. It is the ideal companion for beginners and advanced students in Taekwon-Do, giving detailed descriptions and photos of how to perform the movements. It also includes a history of Taekwon-Do in New Zealand with previously unpublished information and photographs.
The author has over 27 years’ experience in Taekwon-Do and holds the rank of 6th dan black belt. He began his training in Palmerston North, New Zealand, later became an assistant instructor in Wellington, then moved to Auckland and set up as a professional instructor in 1985. He is qualified as an International Instructor and in 1994 was awarded the Outstanding Instructor Medal from the International Taekwon-Do Federation.
